4media group worked on a broadcast day with Tourism Queensland to promote the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia’s Gold Coast due to kick off in April.

With more than 6,600 athletes and team officials from 70 Commonwealth nations and territories from around the globe flocking to the Gold Coast’s far stretching beaches, there’s never been a better time to travel to the region. As host city, the Gold Cost is investing more than $13.5 billion in major infrastructure projects set to change the face of the city.

In order to promote the games, the campaign was fronted by Commonwealth and Olympic medal winning triathletes, the Brownlee brothers who spoke about their training, their event and what they hope to achieve.  Alistair Brownlee has opted to move back down in distance to defend his triathlon title at the Commonwealth Games, where he will form part of a 10-strong England triathlon and para-triathlon squad which includes his brother, Johnny.

The campaign secured over 20 interviews which led to us hosting the entire day from Media City in Manchester. The broadcast day included 16 BBC slots including BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 5 Live, 6 TV interviews including BBC Breakfast, Newsround, Blue Peter, BBC News Sportsday, BBC Sports News, and Match of the Day Kickabout as well as Capital Radio, and Heart Radio.
