Using-Smart-Technology-Solve-Social-Issues-Satellite-Media-Tour-2

Overview

A leading PC brand partnered with 4media for the launch of its film series, which is a virtual reality (VR) cinematic experience celebrating women who are using smart technology to solve global social issues and empower empathy. For this campaign, 4media booked both English language interviews with U.S.-based media and Spanish language interviews with Mexico-based media.

Challenge

The collection of 10 global VR immersive movies spotlights young women using technology to make a difference amidst pandemic and global upheaval. One of those women is Detroit native and current University of Michigan student Kemi Dauda, who created an app aimed at children under 5 to teach basics like numbers, colors and sounds to address alarming rates of illiteracy in adults in Detroit. She has since launched her non-profit, ‘Bringing Back Hope’, through which she continues to innovate and help bridge the digital divide in education. Another is Mariann Ávila, who is passionate about the transformative power of education. She is determined to make education available to all, particularly young girls from poor backgrounds. Mariann set up her own NGO when she was just 15 years old. The focus is bringing STEM education to small towns and villages outside of Monterrey, one of the most violent areas of Mexico.

Solution

4media analyzed and modified new technology to conduct a completely virtual satellite media tour, executing the entire broadcast with a portable broadcasting system from the home of our technician. Our team booked a virtual satellite media tour across U.S. and Mexico-based media with both Kemi and Mariann. Every aspect of the media day was conducted with both the technician and tour talent working from home and linked to the studio, resulting in successful interviews for client and viewers alike.

Outcome

With U.S. media, our team booked TV interviews in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, and Austin. With Mexico-based media, 4media booked TV interviews with both Telefórmula and TV Mexiquense.
