Job Summary:

4media group is looking for an experienced VP of Communications, a motivated self-starter with integrated marketing communications expertise. Someone who can support and guide our talented team to deliver the best achievable outcomes for our clients.

The Role will be responsible for leading the Public Relations efforts of multiple clients and overseeing a team of PR professionals within the agency. This person will work closely with clients to develop and execute PR strategies, build and maintain media relationships, and manage the production of PR materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of traditional and digital media and experience in leading PR campaigns for multiple clients.

We are looking for someone with a background in overseeing client relationships, who possesses strong project management skills in the public relations profession. Preferably has top 150 agency experience and a proven track record for directing award-winning campaigns and securing nationally earned media placements. This is a remote, national-account leadership position.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the PR efforts for multiple clients and oversee a team of PR professionals
  • Work closely with clients to understand their business goals and develop PR strategies that support those goals
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists on behalf of clients
  • Manage the production of PR materials, including press releases, media kits, and speeches
  • Oversee the development and execution of crisis communications plans for clients
  • Work closely with other departments within the agency, such as creative, digital, and research, to ensure consistent messaging and positioning
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies and incorporate them into PR strategies for clients
  • Mentor and develop team members to help them grow professionally
  • Ensure communication strategy is consistent and reflects the organization’s strategic vision
  • Work cross-functionally within the group to manage services required to meet client’s needs
  • Create, manage, and help implement client public relations strategies
  • Lead and assist with pitching national and regional media, and direct pitching strategies and efforts
  • Guide and direct communications strategies for specified accounts
  • Manage relationships with media outlets
  • Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers and freelancers
  • Lead and publish traditional and digital communications for campaigns
  • Ensure strategic and consistent framing of messages
  • Create, edit and revise content as necessary
  • Manage video and photography projects for client’s communications channels as needed
  • Attend events, conferences, and speaking engagements relevant to clients
  • Advocate on behalf of the company brand with external stakeholders and the media across all communications channels and vehicles
  • Edit and revise content as necessary
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in public relations, including experience leading PR campaigns for multiple clients
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful PR strategies
  • Strong understanding of traditional and digital media
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team
  • Strong client management skills and ability to build and maintain client relationships
