4media group trains top corporate executives, company spokespersons, and media representatives to successfully deliver key messages to local, regional, and national broadcast media.

WHAT WE DO:

Prior to training, we work with your PR and Communications team to craft messages and sample questions to be used throughout the sessions. When working on-site or at a television production studio with your spokesperson, we simulate actual television interviews, providing training for in-studio/remote (satellite) interviews or in-person interviews where a reporter comes to your location. Our media trainers coach your spokespersons on effective message delivery, ideal length of answers, and how to pivot when asked about irrelevant topics or questions outside the scope of the interview.

We record the training sessions and provide playback for instant critique. Today, more and more interviews are conducted virtually via Zoom, Skype, or an alternate digital platform. So, in addition to all media training best practices mentioned above, our team will advise on creating a professional-looking background, lighting a home office, proper shot framing, recording the highest-quality audio, and establishing a strong and secure internet connection. To simulate actual television and satellite interviews, we highly recommend that training is conducted face-to-face in a non-virtual format.

KNOWLEDGE WE PROVIDE:

  • Interview skills to handle questions from both a reporter that’s present and a host via satellite
  • The proper length of answers for broadcast
  • Attire do’s and don’ts
  • Body language and posture for on-camera interviews
  • How to stay on message and pivot if irrelevant or off-topic questions are asked
  • Basic broadcast terminology

Whether your spokesperson is speaking to a local reporter or fielding questions via satellite from television markets throughout the U.S., national cable news, or the networks, getting it right the first time is why professional media training is an extremely valuable investment.
