Position Overview:

As a new business seller, you will play a key role in identifying and securing new business opportunities, driving revenue growth, and building strong client relationships. In this role, you’ll use research-led story ideas and campaign concepts developed by our internal teams to spark meaningful conversations with prospects, open doors through compelling, story-driven outreach, and build a strong pipeline. You’ll work closely with an experienced sales team and subject-matter experts, leveraging your communication and strategic selling skills to close new deals and ensure a seamless transition into long-term client engagement. You’ll also collaborate across teams to deliver tailored solutions that truly meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Execute targeted outreach via email, LinkedIn, and sequenced campaigns. Engage prospects with confident, clear, and compelling communication.
  • Story-Driven Outreach: Leverage research-led story ideas from our internal teams—built for earned-media pickup and engagement—to craft outreach that sparks meaningful conversations.
  • Pipeline Building & Qualification: Conduct targeted research to identify the right contacts for story ideas, lead consultative conversations; diagnose client challenges: translate needs into tailored solutions.
  • Relationship Building: Foster and develop strong, lasting relationships with key decision-makers across corporations, organizations, PR agencies, and brands.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions based on client needs, market insights, and industry trends.
  • Account Management: Support client engagement, ensuring exceptional service delivery to establish long-term partnerships.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside media planners, PR specialists, and senior sales teams to create integrated communications strategies for clients.
  • Reporting & Insights: Provide regular updates on sales pipeline, market trends, and client feedback to senior leadership.

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Direct Industry Expertise: 3-5 years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of selling communications services in the PR industry, and expertise in broadcast, digital, content production, and/or influencer marketing to brands and agencies.
  • Sales & Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to drive sales and develop long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Adaptability & Initiative: Ambitious, driven, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in inside sales, business development, or lead generation roles.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Skills: Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, ZoomInfo/Apollo).
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present in a strategic customer centric and persuasive manner.
